MiAK QUALITY ASSESSMENT UNIT DIRECTIVE (2020)

1. BASIS, PURPOSE, AND SCOPE
This Directive has been prepared in accordance with Article 15th of the Charter of the Association for Accreditation of Architectural Education (MiAK). The aim is to determine the formation, duties, terms of office, and working principles of the Quality Assessment Unit, whose purpose is to conduct the internal audit and quality assessment of MiAK's activities.
2. DEFINITION AND ABBREVIATIONS
In this Directive;
a) MiAK: Association for Accreditation of Architectural Education
b) MiAK-MAK: Association for Accreditation of Architectural Education Architectural Accreditation Board,
c) MiAK YK: The Board of Directors of the Association for Accreditation of Architectural Education,
d) İKGDR: Internal Quality Assurance Assessment Report,
e) KDB: MiAK Quality Assessment Unit.
3. DUTIES OF THE QUALITY ASSESSMENT UNIT
3.1. At the end of each year, the KDB examines MiAK's activities on the following topics:
a) Minutes of MiAK and MiAK-MAK meetings,
b) Accreditation decisions,
c) Documents of the evaluation process of at least two programs,
d) Annual Activity Report, if necessary, conducts interviews with MiAK and MiAK-MAK members. Prepares the İKGDR. In this evaluation, it indicates:
(i) Compliance of MiAK activities with regulations and directives on issues such as corporate structure, sustainability, continuous improvement, participation, standards, reliability, education, transparency, and archiving,
(ii) its strengths and developmental aspects;
(iii) Improvement studies on previously identified areas open to improvement.
3.2. As a result of the evaluation, the KDB annually submits the İKGDR covering its evaluation and recommendations to MiAK-YK.
4. FORMATION OF THE QUALITY ASSESSMENT UNIT, DETERMINATION OF ITS MEMBERS AND DURATION
4.1. The KDB was established by MiAK-YK by appointing three members from among the MiAK members.
4.2. The members elect one member from among themselves as the chairman.
4.3. The term of office of the members is 2 (two) years.
5. AMENDMENT TO DIRECTIVE
Proposals for amendments to this Directive shall be submitted by the KDB to the MiAK- YK.
6. ENFORCEMENT AND EXECUTION
6.1. This Directive shall enter into force with effect from the date of its approval by the MiAK-YK.
6.2. The provisions of this Directive shall be executed by the chairman of the MiAK-YK.
6.3. The authority to make regulations and take decisions on all issues other than the provision of this Directive is the responsibility of MiAK-YK
